The year 2000 was an interesting time for music. Pop music was looming large with boy band ballads (Backstreet Boys) and pop princesses (Britney Spears). Nu metal was continuing to grow in popularity with big album releases from Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, and Disturbed. 2000 was also a prominent year for hip-hop with artists like Eminem and OutKast releasing stand-out albums, The Marshall Mathers LP and Stankonia, respectively.
